What is Reflexology?

Practised thousands of years ago in China and Egypt, reflexology is an ancient therapy that is increasingly recognized today for its positive effect on wellbeing. It’s based on the idea that we have energy pathways running through our body, which are linked to different organs and parts of our body.

These pathways can be accessed via reflex points on our hands and feet. Stress, bad eating habits, a lack of exercise or illness may cause these energy pathways to become congested and blocked, resulting in discomfort, pain, illness and disease. By applying pressure on these reflex points, tension and tiny deposits may be released, encouraging better circulation, an elimination of toxins and a free flow of energy. Reflexology does not claim to cure, but may help stimulate the body’s own ability to heal itself.

What are the potential benefits of reflexology?

• Relief from stress and tension
• A strengthening of the immune system
• Boost of energy levels
• Relief from pain
• Rebalancing of the hormonal system
• Assistance in recovery from accidents, trauma, injuries and operations
• Improved circulation

• Stimulation of detoxification
